Joanne McIver and Christophe Sauniere
Prepare for an evocative musical journey into the Highlands with this skilled musical duo.
Songwriter Joanne McIver started playing bagpipes when she was six, and later studied music at Glasgow University where she specialised in performance and composition. While in Glasgow she met Christophe Sauniere, and worked with him on a book of bagpipe tunes about the isle of Arran, which led to their first CD Leaving Arran. Joanne now divides her time between composing, recording, teaching and playing all over the world; and she is currently the official piper of the British Embassy in Paris.
Christophe Sauniere is a skilled harpist who played with several French orchestras before becoming principal harpist with the Royal Scottish National Orcehstra. His exceptional musicianship and experience complements Joanne's compositional skills.
