This adaptation of an Angela Carter short story combines dance and physical theatre with opera. Les Amoureux - The Lovers - is a story of love, life and death; a twisted Sleeping Beauty with the faded opulent feel of a gothic fantasy. The accompanying score mixes music by Chopin, Glass, Bartok and Faure.
Glasgow-based Company Chordelia was formed in April 2002 by choreographer and artistic director Kally Lloyd-Jones. It aims to attract new audiences to dance with high calibre and innovative performance work which uses the medium of dance alongside other art forms and resources.
